Kasigluk

Kasigluk

Kasigluk is located in western Alaska. The village is divided across two sides of the Johnson River: Akula and Akiuk. Each side has its own school. The Akiuk side is sometimes known as "old Kasigluk" and Akula as Akula Heights. On the Akula side, we have a clinic, community center, post office, general store, hardware store, airport, and a Russian Orthodox church. The village has a water plant and sewer system. Almost all the houses are connected to the city water and sewer system. Most houses also use stove oil for heating purposes along with wood stoves.
