Native Youth Olympics (NYO)

Native Youth Olympics (NYO) is a sport that was passed down through the Yup'ik generations. NYO is comprised of various individual events that are used to test stamina, strength, agility, and flexibility. Boys and girls in grades 4-12 can each participate in NYO.

Eric Tinker participates in the Seal hop.  Boys use their feet and knuckles to propel them down the court. Girls use their feet and hands to propel them down the court.
