Billingual Arts Week a Success
This is the image for the news article titled Billingual Arts Week a SuccessThis years Bilingual Arts week was April 24th-28th. Yup'ik arts were created by all levels of students. The 7th-12th grade boys made story knives and bows and arrows. The 7th-12th grade girls made various small crafts such as knitted booties, necklaces, and small fur ornaments. The 3rd-6th grade boys made bird houses. The 3rd-4th grade girls made hair clips. The 5th-6th grade girls made Kuspuks. The K-2nd grade students beaded bracelets, learned string stories, tied blankets, sewed pillows and made a three dimensional map of the village.

A great big thank you to Daisy White, Levi Hoover, Bertha Peter, Matthew Active, Daniel Andrew, Anna Nicholas, Megan Nicholas, and Mani Seal for helping with student projects. Thank you to Levi Nicholas and Gary Beaver for leading Yuraq drumming. Also, thank you to Charlie Isaac for putting together this wonderful week for our students.
